alpine meadows is a quiet ski community tucked into the sierras, but highly accessible via the 89 from either truckee or tahoe city You are minutes away from the base of the mountain, and only a short drive to the bustling town of Truckee or the lake town of Tahoe City.
squaw valley village is a short drive as well, which has a quaint little village with plenty of restaurants, shopping, bars, and things to do
at the beginning of alpine meadows road, you will find the river ranch, which is a great spot for dining, happy hour, live music, and watching people flow down the truckee river in the summer time You will also find a shopping center with a small cafe.
the closest super market is either savemart in tahoe city or safeway in truckee Downtown Truckee is 11 miles away and offers a ton of restaurants, shopping, bars, locale events, and more.

getting around is pretty simple in alpine meadows! we suggest that you do have a car (awd or 4wd in the winter) to get the most out of the area There is the TART, public transportation, which is a great option if you do not want to drive, and you can take this almost all over the valley and around Lake Tahoe. During the winter, we do have a local shuttle that can pick you up at the door and take you to the ski resort.
