WHO IS ONE DEGREE?

One Degree is changing travel behavior. Through our eco-certification program, booking site and marketplace for vacation rental owners and guests, we’re building a community of eco-conscious travelers.

One Degree is part of the UpNext Group family, a meta travel company that has listings for millions of vacation rental properties worldwide. With the help of UpNext Group, we are able to provide eco-friendly property owners with a platform in which to promote their vacation rentals, gain more visibility to potential guests and encourage them to book eco-friendly.

As a certified B-Corporation, UpNext Group, the parent company of One Degree, is committed to using business as a force for good, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide us with global targets and priorities to make sure we’re collectively building a sustainable future.

One Degree is working to change travel behaviour by encouraging property owners and travelers to make sustainable choices. In doing so, we believe we can impact the following SDGs:

One Degree will support 'Climate Action' (target 13.3) by improving education, awareness and human capacity on climate change to help reduce the travel industry’s impact.

One Degree will impact ‘Life Below Water ‘(target 14.1) by helping property owners, managers, and hotels understand the impact of single-use non-biodegradable products on our oceans and provide access to cost-effective alternatives.

One Degree will support ‘Life on Land’ by encouraging property owners to hire designated staff who are responsible for monitoring and impacting their local environmental efforts. This will include purchasing policies, consideration of the surrounding environment and more.

One Degree aims to impact ‘Sustainable Cities and Communities’ (target 11.6) by helping property owners reduce their adverse per capita environmental impact by paying special attention to their carbon emissions which affect air quality.
