it is 3 miles to petworth, best known as the location of the stately home petworth house and its vast country park This old town is quintessential old England, with small streets lined with cottages, antique shops, tearooms and restaurants. There is a good pub a 5-10 minute (0.3 miles walk) from the cottage, and Petworth has some fine eateries. There's a well-stocked Co-op in the town, or larger Sainsbury's and Tesco's supermarkets in Pulborough.
