A perfect retreat, enjoy a cabin stay at Wheatley’s Glamping, sleeping up to 4 guests (plus one additional child). Reminiscent of the old clinker boats that coastal communities have used to store tools and nets, most notably on Northumberland’s own Lindisfarne Island, the glamping cabins are designed to resemble upturned fishing boats – but with all the home comforts that have created a beautiful all season living space.
wheatley’s cabin is positioned behind and slightly further up the bank from blackcleugh and the wonnies The private decking area at the front of the cabin leads down to your own gravelled area to the side, allowing an unhindered view over the lake towards ‘Bristol Lodge’ – the one time home of the author Catherine Cookson. Here there is seating provided around a firepit/BBQ. This cabin sleeps up to 4 adults, or up to 4 adults and one child under 12 years old. The fixed king-sized bed has a proper comfortable mattress. This sleeping area can be curtained off from the rest of the living space where there is a king-sized double sofa bed.
the kitchenette is equipped with a sink, kettle, toaster, fridge with small ice box compartment, double ceramic hob and an electric oven with a grill There is a drop leaf table with folding chairs for dining. The cabin is heated by means of an electric heater, and each cabin has a 28” smart TV with DVD player and WiFi.

we also have a children’s play area on site for our guests to enjoy This is suitable for children between approximately 3 and 12 years old. It has been designed and built by Langley Furniture Works and follows our nautical theme – the play area includes a cargo net, slide, balance beams, small boat and raised boat platform for fantastic imaginative pirate play!!.
