This attractive, terraced stone cottage is set in a quiet corner on the edge of Chapel-en-le-Frith, outside the pretty village of Combs, which appeals to walkers and has a lovely pub/restaurant. Located on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the cottage is warm, welcoming and deceptively spacious, and is perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful part of the High Peak. Traditionally furnished with a homely feel, this charming cottage has character beams and a cosy living room, perfect for relaxing in, whilst the front bedroom has a stunning view over Combs Reservoir. Outside, is a quiet, secluded courtyard area overlooking uninterrupted views of open countryside, where you can sit and enjoy the sun.
chapel-en-le-frith means ‘chapel in the forest’, the ‘chapel’ being the old norman church which still stands in the market square with its original stocks The forest has been replaced over the years by lovely old stone cottages. Market day is still Thursday, but is no longer a cattle market! The market place was filmed in the BBC drama ‘The Village’, where the Kings Arms featured as the old pub.
