if you have a car and are driving to your villa or apartment, please follow these instructions using gps will take you via old and less easy roads and unusual locations:
leaving the airport take the dual carriageway in the direction of funchal (road known as the via rápida)
leave the via rapida at exit 12 signposted funchal/campo da barca
this exit takes you into a loop passing under the motorway and to a t-junctionwith a set of traffic lights
turn left at the traffic lights and keep to the left
at the next set of traffic lights, enter the tunnel and drive down towards town
go across the next 2 set of traffic lights, then move to the left hand lane and stayin that lane
go across the next 2 sets of traffic lights, always keeping in the left lane
keep driving on this road for about 26 kilometers until you reach the traffic lights before Praça da Autonomia.
