Just a 5 minute drive to downtown Columbus, , the City Cottage is tucked away in the Franklinton arts district.
the space:
the city cottage is a historic carriage house, that has been lovingly restored into a beautiful short term rental house From the moment you enter, this bright space invites you in to stay a while.
the first floor has the perfect sized kitchen, complete with everything needed to prepare a delicious meal is open to the living room, and also a dinning nook. There is a 1/2 bath on the first floor. Our living room has a sleeper couch.
upstairs is a lovely bedroom and full bathroom bedroom has a queen bed, and a twin daybed. There is also a twin folding bed for use on the 2nd floor. Our bathroom has a walk-in shower! There is also a washer and dryer on the 2nd floor. enjoy a sunset on our new front porch!

our neighborhood franklinton is situated just west of downtown columbus, and is full of historic homes This neighborhood has experienced many phases through out it's existence, and is currently in a revitalization phase. There are lots of properties being renovated, and some that still remain boarded and empty. This area has experienced some crime in the past, but has improved in recent years.
franklinton has experienced several great floods in the past, and has been somewhat neglected throughout the middle to late part of the 1900's The Franklinton Floodwall, completed in 2004, is 7 miles long, cost $134 million. The wall's completion has released the area from being considered a floodplain, as well as releasing the previous building restrictions that often prevented development in the past. As a result, commercial and industrial activities are starting to grow in the Franklinton Area.
