winter guidance: all roads into tahoe may require awd, 4wd and or chains My road is quite steep and could also require you to park at the bottom of the road and hike up despite the road being maintained on during the odd weather event (rarely but it can happen) Arrive with suitable shoes with good track or clip on tracks, gloves, beanies and jackets IN the car @ winter. Not flip flops (seriously).
