joshua tree highlands is considered one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the area given its close proximity to the national park as well as its forever northerly vistas of the mojave desert Though you’ll feel like you’re far from civilization, this area sits just a few minutes’ drive from shops and restaurants in Joshua Tree Village and Yucca Valley.
when you’re ready for some outdoor adventure, joshua tree national park’s west entrance is less than 5 minutes away by car
searching for great eats, drinks, shops, and things to do? here are a few recommendations in joshua tree village, less than a 10-minute drive away:
• start your day at the dez with a coffee and baked good
• marvel at the handiwork at the world famous crochet museum
• pick up some lunch or a souvenir from the joshua tree certified farmers' market, open saturdays
• perhaps close your day with the food, drinks and music offered at the rustic joshua tree saloon

getting around:
this is a remote location down dirt roads, so please take it slow While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.

• pool and hot tub heating:
- your rental includes heating for the in-ground pool in may and september
- the hot tub is always free to heat
- however, during the cooler months, there are extra charges for pool heating
- if you want the pool heated during these months, please let us know before you arrive
extra charges for pool heating:
october and april: $200 per night
november through march: $300 per night
january and february: pool heating is not available
no jumping, diving, running or rough play near the pool and hot tub area No glass can be around the pool and hot tub, there are plastic cups in the kitchen to be used outside. Please mind the quiet hours (no loud noises after 10pm). No intoxicated persons may use the pool or hot tub. NO LIFEGUARD WILL BE ON DUTY - YOU SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.
