Positive: We had the most wonderful stay in this charming shepherd’s hut. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the owner Anna and were shown around as she explained in detail all we need to know about the hut. The hut itself is beautifully crafted – cozy, spotlessly clean, and full of thoughtful touches such as tunnocks tea cakes that made it feel like a true home away from home. The views of rolling countryside (in between the showers of rain) was pure bliss. Lovely footpaths to walk on over the fields and through the trees to the town. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and there was plenty of wood available for our braai. We especially loved sitting outside and watching Molly, the geese and a dog who all came over to say hello. The hosts were lovely – helpful, responsive, and respectful of privacy. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of care into creating a tranquil setting, within their beautiful garden. We were there the weekend of the Artland Open Studios event, met lots of lovely locals in the community who were very welcoming. If you're looking for a relaxing, getaway surrounded by nature, We recommend this place more highly.
