During warm months, the lawn is framed by a goldenrod field that fills with butterflies. A short path connects the lawn to a small pond that is fed by a babbling brook and surrounded by tall hemlock, oak, birch, and beech trees. The brook connects to a second small pond, also on the property. Perfect for meditating, yoga sun salutations, or simply taking in the forest sounds of croaking bullfrogs, rushing water, and wind rustling through tall trees. The ponds are filled with wildlife: salamanders, frogs, minnows, tadpoles. It's even possible to ice skate (at your own risk) in winter. There is also a magical treehouse (for young visitors only). It's possible to never leave the 13 acre property, but the home is also part of Becket Woods, a community that includes access to a swimming pond with sandy beach, playground, picnic gazebo, clay and hard tennis courts, basketball court, and five miles of trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.
