Wake up to collect fresh eggs for breakfast from our coop and make a drink with a fully stocked coffee/tea/juice bar with a true espresso machine, then drink it while rocking on the porch. Bring your pets & take a hike on the trails or head to Falls Lake or Fantasy Lake for family fun. Finish your day relaxing by the firepit, grilling on the patio or taking a dip in the hot tub.

*on the stair walls you will notice an optional hookup for a baby/pet gate, the gate will be in the 3rd floor closet if you'd like to install it during your stay for added safety

-fishing kayak onsite that you can take to neuse river or falls lake (if you can properly transport it)
want to really enjoy the full outdoor experience? we have a tent in the 3rd floor closet if you want to sleep under the stars in our forest
have your perfect photo op or take a walk through history, our back yard backs up to the historic csx railway! get the amazing experience of watching a train go by (usually once a day or less)
last but not least, enjoy farm fresh eggs and the true homestead experience with our chicken coop & run, grain is available onsite for you to hand feed them if you wish The chicken experience is completely OPTIONAL. They have endless water supply, their own large fenced in area, coop and run, if your pets have a prey drive please do not let the chickens out and leave them in their run.
*aggressive animals are not permitted on the property Hosts will tend to the chickens to replace feed every 5 days for long stays unless guests opt to do it. For stays longer than 15 days, Hosts will come on property mid stay to clean out the coop and offer a FREE mid-stay clean.

*the wood burning fireplace indoors is currently not able to be used and will be ready by fall, do not attempt to light a fire
*early check-in and late check-out may be available upon request at no additional cost, depending on occupancy and cleaning schedule
*"with great freedom comes great responsibility" Due to the many activities we offer and the nature of this unique property, there are inherent risks associated. Guests assume all responsibility for their and their parties' actions while on property. Guests agree to use amenities responsibly and never under the influence of any substance. Guests agree to exercise caution while roaming the wooded property and uneven terrain with roots, plants and trees. Guests will exercise caution while handling any animals on property and wash their hands before and after handling chickens or their eggs. Hosts are not responsible for any injuries or other harm that may occur on the property. By booking this property, Guests assume this responsibility and agree to the aforementioned.
*if you are staying longer than 3 nights and would like additional cleaning service, please notify your host, an additional cleaning fee will apply for each service requested for stays longer than 15 days, one complimentary clean is provided mid-stay!
*the property backs up to the csx railway therefore you can expect to hear a train go by typically once a day or less No discounts or refunds will be issued due to the train as it is stated in the listing.
*there is a rooster on property His name is Donald, he's retired and very friendly, hardly crows anymore as he is towards the end of his life but you may hear crowing during your stay. We are allowing him to finish the rest of his days in peace.
*there are 3 outdoor cameras that overlook the chicken coop, the garden, and the front gate, this is for the safety of our guests, plants and animals
*although we allow events, the hudson homestead is not an event venue and will not be responsible for setup, takedown or providing any additional furniture or decor for events The event fees ($150 for less than 15 guests, $300 for less than 30 guests) simply cover additional wear and tear on the property and resources.
disruptive events are strictly prohibited, the following are grounds for immediate termination of your stay with no refund:
- unapproved events (contact the host if you plan on having any guests other than the amount stated in your booking)
- disruptive or violent conduct (yelling, physical altercation, excessive horseplay, etc)
- discharging firearms
- loud music past 10pm
- open invitation or entry-fee events (events with no predetermined guest list that are open to anyone and/or charge an entry fee)
- illegal substance use
- deliberate tampering or disabling of the security system
- using or lighting fires in unapproved areas
- generally, anything that would typically result in being removed from a hotel Please respect the land, the animals and the neighbors.
-this is a wooded lot with a bustling ecosystem and there is a reasonable expectation of wildlife on the property The inside of the home and the porches are sprayed for pests bi-weekly and are typically clear, however, the rest of the yard uses only natural repellents. This is to protect pollinators and keep our chickens (who feast on the bugs) and their eggs free of any toxins. We treasure and respect the natural life on the property and ask you do the same. If an additional spraying is needed inside the home please advise. No refunds or credits will be offered due to naturally occurring creatures..
