Positive: Hotel was generally clean,  good food, otherwise good. Location was good, near the train station and fast train to Schiphol & Amsterdam. I believe it had a gym, but no pool. I am expected by Booking.com to write more, but what can say. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Negative: Asked for twin room, and customer service assured us, yes, twin room.   A double room greeted us. Allocated correctly a twin room,  with a commondoor to the next apartment, and spare key didn't work, so down to reception again. Next day, bin liner was removed from our bin & left on table. Rubbish removed next day N3xt day went to reception about travel passes in Amsterdam & assured by 2 separate customer service personnel at different times,  a young lady & young gentleman. Both categorically said the GVB pass was the one to get as it covered from the airport to central station. At Schiphol Airport the selling agent at Bruna said no that is not correct. The GVB pass only covers the metro,  trams & definitely not any trains . Definitely get the Amsterdam & Region Travel card as it would cover a far greater area, plus Amsterdam Central. This we bought. Had we bought the GVB pass we would certainly be out of pocket. Another time at breakfast the staff were setting up for a larger group of tables so they dragged the tables, screehhhhhh, then the same with the chairs. Deafening the quietness of the room. Tall fellow and lady in black uniform. Another day, breakfast staff lady with orange/red hair, moved a couple of chairs by picking them up & carrying them. Very commendable.  Another day a blacked dresses breakfast lady kept adjusting her hair touching her face cleaning tables, placing napkin knife & fork, cleaning tables with same cloth. Drop a knife on floor and placed it on the table.  On the last day a guest spilt a lot of scrambled eggs on the floor,  and 3 to 4 staff just walked past it. Did not try or attempt to pick it up.  In all these instances We did not tell staff. We wanted to see if standard improved The quality of workmanship is certainly not 100% & standards & practices need improving . The wifi internet is not secure, operating a public network.  Thus is totally unacceptable. 
Summary: Great location, expected better. Comfortable. Friendly staff.
