Summary: Worst VRBO experience we've ever had. My husband and I along with 2 sons (4 of us total) were flying in for daughter's college grad. Had to email the owner 6 days before check-in because we hadn't received ANY communication about the rental. Upon reading the info, it said additional visitors need to be confirmed (they have Ring cameras and see who comes and goes), so I emailed to tell them my daughter and her two roommates would be over for dinner. (The property description lists max 7 occupants, so I assumed we were fine and just wanted to give the ol' Ring a heads up.) As soon as I sent the email, I got an invoice for $30 per person, per day or $270! I straightened it out with the property manager who was very nice and said they were just getting this property up and running so there were a few things to work out...? Once there, my son got locked in one of the bedrooms bc the lock on the door was broken on the inside and my other son slept in a room where the corner of the bed was broken, so the mattress was on an uncomfortable tilt. The unit was very clean-- smelled like bleach when we arrived-- but there was quite a bit of deferred maintenance. It's located in a nice neighborhood with a very nice backyard, but I wouldn't stay here or work with this owner again.
