A non-smoking, pet-free space is a must, and a small campfire would be the perfect touch for unwinding under the stars. I've heard Mentone is a hidden gem, a true escape into nature, and that sounds exactly like what I want. the thought is exciting—does such a place exist?

Summary: My husband and I took a weekend away from ATL to hike in the area but bad weather forced us indoors. We were very comfortable during our “rain delay” weekend. I always like to offer insider information in my reviews for those who read the reviews carefully so this time I’ll say we would have very much enjoyed the grounds if the weather had cooperated. Bring a frisbee! Bring a big blanket for a picnic outside! Bring charcoal for the grill! Sad we didn’t get to do those things or even enjoy the screened in porch. But we did enjoy a full day on the sofa under a blanket with books! Wifi and cell service were very spotty. Download what you need ahead of time - including directions to the cottage.
