leaving the airport take the motorway (via rápida) west in the direction of funchal and after this to ribeira bravaTravel for 34. Km.
when you reach the end of the motorway (approximately 35 minutes) keep on the right hand lane and follow the signs to ribeira brava – ponta do sol
the slip road will lead you to a roundabout Take the first exit to Ribeira Brava and drive towards the sea for 1,4Km. You will reach another roundabout. Take the 1stexit into the tunnel and you will now carry on for 3,9Km until you reach the roundabout of Ponta do Sol.
at the end of the tunnel you will reach another roundabout; take the 2ndexit , signposted ponta do sol and drive through another tunnel At the end, carry on along the coastal road and you will enter another tunnel.
at the end of this tunnel you will come to the roundabout of ponta do sol; on the left you will find a petrol station and mini market Take the 2nd exit into the next tunnel and drive for 2,8Km.
at the end of the tunnel, at the roundabout, turn sharp right into the next tunnel (signposted calheta)
at the roundabout (1,6km), take the first turn-off, signposted to calheta, drive through the next tunnel for 1,8km
reaching the next roundabout, take the first exit following signs to arco da calheta and drive up 100metres until you reach another roundabout
take the 1st exit (past the car dealership) Signposted Rabaçal/Farmácia/Casas de Santo Antão/Pico da Urze and drive for approximately 1.4Km's.
you will reach t junction, turn left and drive for another 500m on this road You will have to turn left after passing the pharmacy, drive further down until you reach another T-Junction, enter to Caminho Velho and immediately after turn left on the first entrance. Carry on until the end of the road and you will find Arco Sun in front.
