the location is very convenient to the walter e Washington Convention Center which is located above the Mount Vernon Metro station. The Shaw Metro station is 3 blocks to the apartment. The largest grocery store in DC (Giant Foods) is about a 10 minutes walk right on P and 8th streets. this space is also shared with upstairs unit but there is plenty of street parking available!
