Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The room was satisfactory but small. The restaurant was very nice and the food was of a good standard. Service in the restaurant was good. The pool was lovely and there was plenty of nice outdoor seating. The waitress who served drinks by the pool was friendly and helpful. The hotel was a wee bit out of the village which was not an issue for us but might bother some.
Negative: The lady owner was not very welcoming when we arrived early. Telling us bluntly “reception is closed” come back in 2 hours. It was quite rude and dismissive and didn’t give a good first impression. It would have been nice to at least be offered a seat, a cool drink, or a chance to freshen up. The same lady was pleasant enough later but not a good first impression.
Summary: After a sticky start, we enjoyed our evening.
