Positive: Sometimes it is not easy to give a rating. This 1-bedroom apartment with separate bathroom was the best accommodation of my vacation in France. My overnight stays ranged from campsites to 4-star hotels, so there's a lot to compare. The apartment is 400 meters or a 5 minute walk from Saint-Julien Cathedral, which is also where the historic old town begins. All in all, a very central location. And yet quiet, quieter than almost anywhere else in France, especially at night. Hardly any cars get lost in the one-way street, but parking can be difficult. The apartment is located together with two other apartments on the first floor of an older apartment building. Since the sound insulation of the interior walls is not good, it is also thanks to the neighbors that it is so quiet. The apartment reminded me strongly of Spain with its unplastered walls. Wooden shacks. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a desk, a kind of wardrobe for hanging and storing clothes. The bed in the middle was 1.90 by 1.40 meters. To the right of the bed was a sofa. I had a precise LiDAR measuring device with me and came up with a room height of 2.75 to 2.80 meters, depending on where I measured. For the room size, I determined 4.20 by 4.50 plus an area of 2.75 by 1.50, a total of 23 square meters. Huge by French standards. The bathroom, which was attached by a sliding door, measured 1.95 by 1.25 meters, or 2.25 square meters. Communication with the landlords was exclusively through electronic media and in French. I never saw them.
Negative: In bed, due to the length, I slept best diagonally. The only large double window looked out onto the quiet street. To the right of the window was a street lamp with a decent light intensity. The window curtain was too small and not light-proof enough to darken the room at night. The folding shutters also let in too much light. An airplane sleeping mask then ensured a good night's sleep. The shower cubicle in the bathroom had internal dimensions of 63 by 63 centimeters. That's not much for tall and/or obese people. After the house front door, it is through a hallway to the backyard and then through an inconspicuous door up a wooden spiral staircase to the first floor. Not so easy to find.
