located in seal cove on the "quiet " side of mount desert island, this comfortable and completely furnished cottage on hodgdon pond farm welcomes you to acadia national park Located less than five miles from Somesville, in the center of Mt. Desert Island, it provides convenient access to other villages and Park entrances. The cottage has its own dock, a canoe, two kayaks, two stand-up paddle board, and a Walker Bay 8' rowboat with sail kit. The cottage can be rented in conjunction with Cottage 1 (44879), which is about 2/3rds of a football field down the pond. Cottage 2 is slightly larger than Cottage 1 because there is a dormer in the Master Bedroom that offers a view down the pond as well as windows that look up the pond. Because it is also on deeper water, the rent is slightly higher. The two cottages share a sitting and play area with swings and sandbox beside two small ponds as well as a field. We keep the lower section of the shared field mowed and there is a storage box of outdoor games for use in this area..
