Positive: Well, if you must stay in Santo Domingo, you sure don't want to pay a lot. This was a fair price. The wifi was solid. The front desk person was excellent, met me at the door and insisted on carrying my bag. If you can avoid Santo Domingo, I would. I was out exploring, I went so you don't have to. There are no good restaurants in walking distance that I could find. That's not the hotel's fault. AC worked well. Hot water in the shower was good.
Negative: This is a noisy hotel, sound travels every time someone walks through or talks in the lobby. Just the way it is. And the room lighting is very dim, I was working on my computer, and it was hard to see the keys, the lighting was so dim. One low-watt bulb, I don't think I could have read a book with that lighting. And no desk to work on. I had to improvise using a low coffee table thing. For the price, what do you want. It's basic and not bad for a night.
Summary: Very basic, but clean and secure. Dim lighting in the rooms, but good wifi.
