15 minutes from Florence spacious elegant suite with it’s own patio/garden and 2 large living rooms; 2 panoramic bedrooms: the first one, that can sleep 3 people, has a large bathroom with a Jacuzzi bathtub and separate shower. The second one, with its own ensuite bathroom with bathtub and shower, is next to the main bedroom and has the same panoramic view. It has two single beds as well as an open loft with a roof window that is reached through a staircase from the bedroom with an extra bed. There is a new fully equipped kitchen, one living room has the original country fireplace,with dining area and a sofa bed, the other a wall of glass that opens onto the patio which is paved with old stone and has a table that was a stone wheel used to crush the olives. The elegant appointments are a mixture of antique and modern furniture.The large shared pool (meters 15.50 X 7.00 X 1.25 ) not visible from the house and surrounded by vegetation, open from May 15th to September 15th, is treated with natural salt.Personal transportation is advisable. this beautiful 19th century country home,recently restored, is part of the “ fattoria il leccio” lived and owned by the passigli family for four generations It sits on top of a hill overlooking the Valle del Mugnone,a gorgeous valley that offers panoramic views of gently slopping hills cultivated with well-tended olive groves as well as views of the town of Fiesole and the city of Florence. It is a 10/15 minute walk through the hilly bucolic countryside. The train, a 12 minute ride from the Fiesole /Caldine station to Santa Maria Novella station in the center of Florence, runs approximately every hour. The buses, a 30 minute ride, also take you into Florence. There is little public transportation after 8pm. Caldine has a supermarket as well as post office and bank.
