this vintage home built in1900 was purchased as our family home in 1987 named captain's quarters in memory of my late husband, riverboat captain mark w Peters. Mark piloted the paddlewheeler Hiawatha, on the Mississippi River and gave guided tours on Lake Pepin. The Mississippi Room consists of a vintage style queen bed, electric fireplace, a private balcony and a ceiling fan. In addition to the electric fireplace and ceiling fan, the home has forced air heat and central air. Robes, towels, a shower mat and an extra blanket have been conveniently placed in the bedroom closet. The bathroom is conveniently located next to the bedroom on the second level. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a free standing soaking tub. On the main floor there is a washer and dryer available. The kitchen is fully equipped with an eat-in dinette and breakfast counter. It also includes a full size refrigerator with ice maker, range, dishwasher, microwave, 2-Way FlexBrew coffeemaker, toaster, mixer, slow cooker, and all the utensils and cookware needed to prepare a meal if you prefer to eat in. The dining room features a round oak table, gas fireplace, and French doors that open to a wraparound deck which has a charcoal BBQ grill, table and chairs. Living room has a Smart TV and Blu Ray Player. There is also a three season porch with board games, puzzles, books, and electric fireplace. Outside there is a small backyard patio and fire pit, room to play yard games. We provide two vintage style bicycles for your bike riding pleasure. (Available with advance request) Enjoy the peace and tranquility of a small town in a quiet neighborhood with off street parking for two vehicles only. Your visit may be filled with antiquing, wine tasting at area wineries, visiting the National Eagle center, golfing on one of the many golf courses, skiing or snowshoeing (snowshoes available with advance request) in the winter. Complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate available for relaxing on the deck or in front of the fireplace, a perfect way to end your day. My goal at Captain's Quarters is to make you feel welcome and comfortable and that when you leave you take a new memory to add to your life's journey.
