Positive: Great location with great views of coastline/river estuary. Quick walk into more touristy area. Great walk along sea wall from dawlish Warren to dawlish. From another review I was worried about there being a big hill to drive up, but there was no big hill on main route to lodge. Quick and polite responses to initial enquiries and helpful suggestions for the best route to lodge. Comfortable bed. Loved being able to have a bath after a long walk. Quiet, peaceful location. Watching the bunnies come out at dawn/dusk to play. Scones on arrival a nice touch. Good self catering facilities.
Negative: None of the lighting in the lounge worked. Some spotlights in other locations had gone too, so not quite right lighting to read in bedroom (end of season - not replaced? ). Although there was no staff on site they did provide a telephone number. However, I was only there a few days so I chose not to report it until after I left. So I can't comment on how they would have responded, but it would have been good if they acknowledged the note I left for them. Also Tv seemed only to work with a remote. Various remotes at property. None worked. I was a solo Travellers, so used TV in bedroom instead, but more troublesome for a family. Some parts need updating. Tap over sink in main bathroom, not fitted at sufficient angle for water to reliably fall in sink. Didn't use it once I realised this, but could see lots of people before me had used it and it looked like it had caused water damage to surrounding unit and floor.
