Positive: Fantastic 3 queen beds and 2 shower rooms, one en-suite. Lovely neighbourhood. Yes, you can hear dogs barking and chickens! You don't need air con in the 3rd week of November. Opening the balcony doors is sufficient. Balcony is lovely to sit out on and have your morning coffee. Cristina is an amazing person. From start to finish, the communication was excellent. She was also flexible on check-in and check out times, which really made a difference because of our flights. Obrigada Cristina!The kitchen is great, and there is no microwave. Enough crockery and cutlery for 6 people, which, believe me, is rare in holiday homes. Also, oven gloves, tea towel, blender, sharp knives and enough pans etc to cook a decent meal. Good capsule coffee machine (Delta, a Portuguese brand and readily available in the nearest Continente supermarket). 12 mins uphill on foot to a large supermarket and 8 mins on the way back downhill. Wi fi worked well. Handy book left in the apartment in 3 languages, with appliances manuals and general information. Get a taxi to the address Cristina texts you, as the actual address is accurate, but reachable by many outdoor steps only. You'll know what I mean after you arrive. Lots of cleaning products left for us and some tea, coffee capsules, jam and biscuits.. New LG dishwasher and washing machine. The apartment looks like the photos. Good amount of darkness in the bedrooms. Great location for buses, but taxis are so cheap using Bolt. We didn't bother. I would definitely stay here again in the cooler season. 10 out of 10!
Negative: Everywhere is hilly in Funchal. There's no escape from it. Walls between bedrooms are thin. As Madeira is sub tropical, you will find those tiny ants like you get in SE Asia. They don't crawl on your bed, and they don't bite. There is bug spray under the sink if this bothers you. This doesn't mean the apartment is dirty.
