Our cabin is nestled on the east side of Big Lake Chetac offering beautiful views of the lake and fantastic sunsets. Big Lake Chetac is known for its fishing and water recreation. Enjoy coffee in the morning in the screen porch and a bonfire at night in the firepit next to the lake. The cabin has two bedrooms, bathroom with shower, living room with pull-out couch and gas-burning fireplace, family room with wood-burning stove, a/c, furnace, and a fully-equipped kitchen. We have DirecTV, a DVD player with a good collection of movies, as well as books and games for your entertainment at those times when you can drag yourself away from the water. We now have wifi!! You will find a charcoal and gas grill outside. We have a dock for your boat or for great fishing. We are located 25 miles north of Rice Lake and 20 minutes south of the famous tourist destination of Hayward, WI. There are ATV trails just down the road and two nearby boat landings. This is a cozy cabin for a family or couple getaway. We also have a pontoon with a 40 hp engine for rent. Inquire if interested in renting the pontoon..

Summary: Lovely setting, comfortable cabin, great communication from hosts! Loved the screened in porch and sunsets were phenomenal. We have stayed at many rental properties over the years, and this was one of the only ones I didn’t feel like we needed to clean the kitchen/dishes and disinfect surfaces before settling in. Our two small dogs loved the place and watching the chipmunks. We rented the pontoon and enjoyed cruising, fishing, and channeling to Birch Lake. Didn’t have much luck fishing. Everything was as described on the listing so we knew it wasn’t going to be fancy. I was glad we read reviews to prepare us for the small shower. Yet, the main cabin and porch was charming and more spacious than expected. We fell in love with the lake and Birchwood. Hope to make it back!
