there is a cook, a housekeeper, (or two for bigger groups), a boy friday and
groundsman/maintenance man The house has good security with panic buttons in all the bedrooms and there has been no security issues in the 25+ years that we have owned the house. Staff quarters can accommodate one extra if required.
there is direct beach access at low - mid tide although the steps down to the beach are quite steep Beach access at very high tide or for elderly folk unable to manage the steps is only a couple of hundred metres down the road on the public access route or through Vipingo Ridge beach bar.
kuruwitu beach is one of the last unspoilt beaches on the kenyan coast Despite it being blissfully bare of people and beach boys/hawkers, it is secure as there are 'askari's' patrolling for the marine conservancy. It is also unusually clean as the conservancy oversee the picking up of the debris that is common along most coastlines. The snorkeling metres off the shore is excellent with an abundance of tropical fish, octopus, lobster and other marine life (some rare). There is a glass bottom boat as well as a fishing/dolphin spotting boat for hire. The conservancy also offer guided tours of the reef where there are even more wonderful snorkeling spots.
the infinity pool set in front of the house has a 'baby pool' section The adjoining pool house is large and comfortable with a kitchen counter for those who would like to occasionally cook their own food and a fridge as well as a lounge and dining area, a barbecue, a water feature and sunbeds. The terrace below has stunning views from where you can see turtles at high tide but is not safe for young or unaccompanied children. There is also a separate sundowner/moon-upper deck on the way down to the beach for yet another unique experience in the evening.
the house: all the large bedrooms are air-conditioned and have standing fans The master bedroom has its own sectioned off veranda as well as a nook with a Tv offering a netflix firestick for those with accounts or a Dvd player and a choice of good films. The middle bedroom has a double bed but there is plenty of room for a cot. The rear bedroom has 2 single beds (which can be pushed together to create a king size bed: this is made comfortable with a mattress topper), a 4' wide bunk bed and a cot. There is a small Tv here as well if children would like to play Dvd's. All bedrooms are ensuite with large bathrooms with showers with good pressure.

the sitting/dining area is big and very airy with good security decorative wrought iron all around It is nicely furnished in a coastal style with wooden overhead fans and 'lamu beds' as sofa's. Upstairs there is yet another fun seating area where there is a rustic bar and a darts board - strictly for adult use please. Please note this area is not safe for young children.
the kitchen is is manned by reuben who is a competent cook specialising in seafood, curries and swahili style cooking although he can cook just about anything and follow recipes well Pili is the head housekeeper and takes care of the laundry and general cleaning.
pili can organise a masseur to come to the house for a very reasonable price - we have a massage table available
activities: if you can bear to drag yourself away from the fabulous pool and beach - the world class pga vipingo ridge golf course is less than a 10 minute drive away They also have a very pleasant Beach Club within walking distance of the house which is open for lunch through to early dinners Tuesday to Sunday. This is a super place to base yourself for snorkelling, swimming and beach activities with its cappuchino machine, well stocked bar and delicious menu.
kilifi which has supermarkets, some nice restaurants and a bustling little town is a 25 minute drive away to the north Dhow trips can be taken up the creek here. Diving and a multitude of water sports (sailing, windsurfing, ski-ing etc) are available at the Mnarani Club. Malindi is a 1.5 hour drive Northwards.
the bamburi nature trail is 35 minutes from the house as is city mall Nyali is less than 40 minutes away with a cinema, shopping complex, hotels and night clubs. Old town Mombasa (fort Jesus etc) is approx a 1 hour drive depending on the traffic.
shopping can be delivered to the house from kilifi by express supermarket (details provided when booked), but there is a naivas in kilifi, a carrefour at nyali city mall and chandarana opposite the nyali cineplex There is also a small shopping centre in Vipingo which also has a very pleasant wine bar.
fishermen often bring their catch to the door, there is a farm nearby with fresh dairy produce and the staff can help you get some basics from the nearby villages You would normally need to do just one main shop at the supermarket and the staff can help top up later if necessary or you can order it from Express.
located on a cliff on kuruwitu marine conservancy, this comfortable, very private house with tasteful furnishings enjoys stunning views and gentle breezes It has a mature garden and a sundowner deck just above the Indian Ocean. There is a 12 x 6 mt infinity pool with a gorgeous pool house and direct beach access.
the confirmation document must be signed and sent back to the owner, whilst the indemnity form must be signed and handed in along with the voucher to the cook upon arrival
maximum occupancy in the house is 8 pax unless by prior arrangement additional fee is applicable
all breakages must be reported
check in and check out times are strict unless agreed in advance
please be considerate about loud noise, this is a residential neighbourhood although the house is very private so low to moderate noise is fine
tipping of staff is expected
no nudity on the beach (country laws)
