Positive: Location of property was great. Space in the lodge was good too.
Negative: First impressions weren’t great. Steps up to the lodge hadn’t been swept and were full of wet leaves , as was the decking. Furniture on the decking wasn’t set out and was randomly scattered all over the front of the lodge with random toys spread out too. We had our 86 year old mum with us who was terrified of slipping on the steps. Lodge wasn’t cleaned properly. All carpets were full of bits and the lounge had popcorn, bits of toys, paper and leaflets under coffee table and sofas - we had a small baby with us . We had luckily taken our own play-mat but after the 7 month old baby pulling popcorn and then a chess piece from under the sofa we had to move them and attempt to vacuum with a Vacuum cleaner that wasn’t fit for purpose. The kitchen floor was very sticky. There were lots of hanging wires at the side of the fireplace which again were a danger to the baby but also looked a mess. Reviews we had read prior to booking had mentioned the decor looking dated but it was also very tired and in need of updating. The sealant around the bottom of the shower in the en suit was mouldy and the bath panel in the main bathroom was held onto the bath via a bath mat hanging over the side of the bath.
