They also have an excellent café where you can enjoy a piece of cake before setting off on your ride. The historic town of Richmond, famous for its castle, Georgian theatre and abundance of individual shops and tea rooms, is around a 30-minute drive, and in the opposite direction is Barnard Castle, with its market, cafés, antique shops and famous Bowes Museum being around the same distance. The Forbidden Corner in Middleham, only 16 miles away in Wensleydale, is hugely popular with families and is a quirky venue with its labyrinth of underground caverns. Picturesque Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle are en-route, with many other picture postcard villages as you pass through. At the end of a busy day exploring, the property is within easy strolling distance of a selection of pubs and restaurants, a perfect way to relax and enjoy good local ales and traditional food.
