potsdam can be reached from brandenburg an der havel main station (approx 25 minutes, 13 km) in approx. 30 minutes and Berlin in approx. 1 hour, Magdeburg in the other direction also approx. 1 hour by train. The former Buga 2015 locations Rathenow, Premnitz, Rhinow/Stölln and Havelberg are also worth a day trip.
