Positive: Location has both positive and negative elements; it is right on the main tourist strip and a great 5-minute walk past all the bars and restaurants to the beach at the bottom end. There is a big Aldi only 3 mins away, if you haven't got the budget to eat out for every single meal. The flat itself is a great 2-bed with kitchen, dining and living room in one, and the washing machine and dishwasher were very handy. The hosts fixed the issue with the bed promptly and the bottle of prosecco waiting for us in the fridge was a nice touch.
Negative: Having a main railway line only 20 metres from the flat meant that it was hard to get to sleep, as the train noise was very loud and only seemed to stop after 1am. You therefore couldn't open the windows at night because of the noise, so the flat got unbearably hot. The lack of any curtains in the entire flat also didn't help with getting a good night's sleep (the host said that this had never been raised before, which I am amazed by). Finally, the flat is on the top floor , which is OK if you don't mind climbing 6 flights of stairs every time you come home. Finally, although the flat is advertised as sleeping 4, I wouldn't say that the sofa bed provides sufficient comfort for two people for a stay of 8 nights (which is what we did). It would probably be OK for a night or two, but otherwise I reckon the flat sleeps 2-3.
Summary: Nice flat, although the location has both positive and negative aspects.
