The Vineyard Mansion was built, in 1890, by the famed architectural firm of Eckel and Mann for B. R. Vineyard, a prominent attorney in St. Joseph, MO. Although divided into apartments in the 1940's, this Romanesque Revival style mansion has been meticulously restored back to its original use. We are proud to offer the Crown Room, a unique alternative to a hotel room, offering the privacy and comfort of a home away from home, enveloped in the grandeur and elegance of the Gilded Age.
the cozy crown room features original hardwood floors, a queen-size bed, seating area, radiator heat, window air conditioner and use of the hall bathroom The hall bathroom was specifically designed for the use of this room. No other guests use this bathroom but it may get used on occasion by the host. Additionally, the room is filled with beautiful, antique furnishings, hardware, and treasures, as well as period-appropriate art.

We try to create a home away from home with the way we do things here, so if you want to make dinner or cookies go right ahead.
