ornos is a lovely area It is peaceful and pretty with a charming harbour. It is very close to Paraga Beach, Paradise Beach and Mykonos Town. Visitors enjoy taking a boat over to the island of Delos which takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

The beautiful Byzantine Panagia Tourlaina Monastery was orginally founded in 1580 and is fronted by an ornate bell tower with triple bells. Its massive alter screen was made in 1775 by Florentine artists and the carved marble and wood, frescoes, crystal chandeliers and gilded pulpit are all extremely impressive. The monastery is open by appointment.

You can taste the wines and many other traditional products such as xynotiro, a hard sour cheese, tyrovolia, a fresh sour cheese, kopanisti, a spicy cheese and louza, a ham similar to proscuitto. For desert, you can taste the Mykonian amygdaloto, a sweet made of almonds and rose water.
