Summary: We arrived to a beeping smoke detector and no batteries in any of the 4 other units. When we notified management, their solutions were as follows: 1) Just take the battery out, 2) Replace it yourself and we'll reimburse you, 3) We'll drop off a battery for you to install yourself, 4) (after I'd told them it was their job to replace it and we didn't have a step stool to reach the units even if it were our job to do their work for them) What, we left a single battery hanging in a bag on the door, you don't mean you were serious about us replacing it ourselves! It wasn't until I informed them that I'd spoken to renters in another unit who also didn't have batteries in their detectors and was ready to call the fire marshall to have a safety inspection conducted that they finally fixed the problem. The garbage disposal in the sink was leaking into a bucket when we arrived and the handle came right off the faucet for the kitchen sink (they did get someone in to fix that quickly, at least). They advertise a couch bed for guests to sleep on, but don't provide any bedding for it. The other ewnters I spoke with said that they had the same problem, and when they contacted management about the problem when they arrived in the evening, management said they would get to it the next day (as if people don't need blankets to sleep!) Everything was dirty. We had to wash all the dishes before using them because they were filthy. The cupboard doors had grime I would feel when I opened them.
