swinging bridge reservoir is the largest largest lake in the sullivan catskills, and one of the few that allows motor boats You'll feel removed from the city, but still within 20 minutes of groceries and things to do. The neighborhood is a mix of seasonal homes and year round residents, with houses sitting on multiple acres of land. At one end of the street is a public boat launch, and just around the corner are two full services marinas--Starlight and Swinging Bridge Marinas.

i recommend having car for your stay Taxis are available, but ride sharing services are more sparse. Rental car services are available in Monticello. Shortline provides service between the city and Monticello as well.
otisville and port jervis metro north stations are each approximately 30 minutes drive from the house The trip from NY Penn Station to Otisville is about 2 hours. Train access is great if you have members of your group who need to arrive/depart at different times.
