A 10-minute drive or boat ride brings you to many restaurants, beaches & shopping including a large grocery store (Publix or Winn-Dixie or Walmart), gas stations, and many other conveniences. Canal in the backyard is only a 10 minute boat ride from Manasota Island and the Gulf of Mexico. also great for kayaking and fishing!
englewood is a non-commercialized beach town with many cute restaurants right on the inter coastal waterways leading to the gulf of mexico This is a popular fishing destination as well, known for Tarpon and many manatees. There are several islands to drive to with bridges including Boca Grande Island and Manasota Island right off Lemon Bay. There's lots to do and explore, but without all the traffic, people and prices like a touristy town. be sure to check out the great shopping and restaurants in the dearborn street area!
