Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The location is in a quiet residential neighborhood, with walking trails, only 2 minutes by car from all necessities. Good water pressure in shower, easy self check in with door code. The price was good considering that there was a private Jacuzzi outside and a greenbelt directly behind the property. The owners are discreet and prompt to answer any questions or requests.
Negative: The kitchen needs a couple of minor things, and the owners promised to attend to these. The studio apartment is better described as a small hotel room with a very cramped living area. The whirlpool has too many chemicals especially since we assumed that we'd be starting with an empty tub exclusively for just the two of us. It was the perfect temperature when we arrived but it went cold mid stay. Possibly a problem with the technical remote since the Internet was also slow and often dropped the signal. However Germany in general has slow internet generally speaking. The garden area constantly had cats cruising through the tiny area making it impossible for me to tether my medium sized dog outside while I was indoors. There's really no space for a dog in the apartment unless it's a miniature. The dining area outside has a table with seating for 4 but the table and lanai are too small to use it with guests. There's nice recliner loungers, but again, if you use these, then you can't walk past and same goes for the clothes rack and entrance to the door. The bed and trifold futon chair although IKEA style was contemporary and new, fluffy with heaps of cushions, however the mattress was too soft for our comfort. Not ideal if you prefer a firm place to rest. We didn't use the TV due to the 10pm quiet rule. We often we're up later than this while cooking and didn't receive any complaints. For the price it's OK. To find an apartment with a private outdoor Jacuzzi you'd pay double the money however you'd have a considerably larger area. You can definitely feel that the owners are truly trying to create something special here and have put a lot of effort and care into it. With more strategically spaced lighting and tweaking the outdoor space for traffic flow it could be a good place for spending a week.
