The Watermelon house is my favorite home at the River Rose Retreat. The shaded, elevated porch that overlooks Lone Man Creek is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. I love to relax on the porch swing or sit on the outdoor dining table and listen to the sounds of the creek flowing over the dam. The watermelon house is open and spacious with floor to ceiling windows that bring in natural light and give a lovely view of the hill country sky.
this beautifully hand designed property depicts why we all love the texas hill country Multi leveled decks, porches a plenty and paths/benches/walls that are intricately hand lain with local rocks. Its such a delight to explore this unique property. We have creek views, access down a short path under the porch and a private dammed off swimming area in lone man creek.

the kitchen is fully stocked with absolutely anything you need to prepare your meals away from home A private propane BBQ pit is available at each house.
the creek access is just a short walk out the side door The path is constructed with the natural landscape so care should be taken when walking down to the seasonal creek.
the best part of this home is the fantastic elevated covered back porch with views of the seasonal creek and horizon We have two dams with waterfalls to lull you to sleep. It has a sturdy porch swing to enjoy the outdoors with your loved ones in any weather. Eat your meals(table with 4 chairs) on the porch or enjoy your favorite beverage with the sounds of calming, flowing water from below.

we do have three rentals on the property They all have their own privacy and outdoor sitting areas. They are lined along the waterway so all have creek views. We do not allow fishing of any kind not even catch and release..
