Summary: Our family booked this property fairly last minute for the busy summer months (1.5 month in advance) in order to visit Acadia National Park. The setting was peaceful, with its own private dock which we loved to spend time out on. The lake was clean, and quiet. It was great for stargazing, or listening for loons, which we were lucky enough to hear. The house description says it has 3 bedrooms, but the layout is such that it is really 2 bedrooms with doors, and the third is really the landing/foyer at the top of the stairs. Not a big deal, but worth noting. Also, the only bathroom is on the first floor, so if traveling with small children or anyone with mobility issues, it may be a consideration. These are not negative things, but something I always find helpful to read in reviews. The house was clean, with beautiful views. The AC was sufficient, and we used fans provided in the bedroom as well on the really hot days to circulate the window unit air from one bedroom to the others. It was about an hour drive into Bar Harbor, but we enjoyed pulling up to a quiet setting at the end of each day. All in all, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
