Summary: This was our first trip to St. Maarten and our first experience with a Home Away property. Both proved to be even better than our expectations. The condo was a great size for my husband and I. Although it sleeps four, I think we would have been a little crowded with another couple. The condo (quite literally) contained everything we needed, with the exception of food. The owners have put a lot of thought into every detail! I debated whether to give a rating of 4 or 5 stars, but eventually settled on 5. Here's the reason for my debate: 1) little to no beach access from the condo, 2) one of the two a/c units only worked sporadically, 3) the roof had a small but continuous leak over the master bed due to some problem with the unit directly above ours, and 4) only one DVD player (not two as described) that was located in the master bedroom instead of the living room. Please don't misunderstand, that's only four mostly-minor things that were wrong out of the hundreds of things that were right. The owners quickly responded to our report of a leaky roof and the non-working a/c unit. We did not report the DVD player issue - no big deal, just a matter of updating the property description. I cannot say enough about the pool area - it was beautiful, and who really needs a beach anyway? Not me. If you NEED a beach, trust me, there are plenty around the island that are easily accessible. Overall, this is a great condo at a great location on the island. Very convenient to the airport, but not close enough to be disturbed by jet noise. Plenty of eating places within walking distance. Thanks Clive and Gail for a wonderful vacation!
