Summary: Beach directly below is not great. Short walk west and beach is nice. No easy beachside access to Waikīkī Beach area. Have to go a couple blocks away from beach then head east about 5 blocks. Not a bad walk but with beach gear is not ideal. Even if you have a rental car like we did, uber to and from Waikīkī Beach if taking chairs, umbrella, etc. worth the 20.
