you come my house, you eat bagaoong,
that's the filipino style,
you come my house, you eat hawaiian food,

``````` this listing= 5 bedroom plus a small cozy child or reading room ````````````````````````` All bedrooms have a queen size bed, the reading room has a full size futon.
3 full baths, the master bath is fit for a king and queen with a walk in 5 x 5 shower & bench
````````this house is spacious for a big group `````````````````
even with a big group, your space will be private, not crowded And in this house, you will come together as a family, as good friends, in the living room, dining room, kitchen, outside patio, still not crowded.
the patio is the entire front of the house There’s a smart tv patio furniture, table fire pit/grill. It’s fun to have yakiniku style at this patio grill table, cooking your food with Ohana and friends.
there are no street lights here, you have no neighbors except myself( a football field away), my parents, other family, on 850 acres.
mountains surround you Have coffee in the morning and greet the sun coming up over the mountain across the street. birds can't help but wake you up.
in the evening, go ahead a take out a beach chair or two, no problem, you can place it out in the open area of the property, remember... no street lights.... lay back.... check out the stars, moon, may possibly see ancient ones.
i have a storage shed with beach amenities Please enjoy the use of these beach amenities. If you use these beach amenities, bring it back rinsed off with fresh water. Salt water will deteriorate all beach stuff.
rinse off all the sand too We don’t need sand in the house either. If you swam in the ocean and got rolled around from the waves, small or big, you will most likely have a lot of sand in your bathing suits without even knowing. Its very hard to get sand out of the house, especially if sand goes in the bed.
i am not being mean or anything but you better believe i will charge you up to $200 if there is a lot of sand in the house( example: a small dust pan 1/4 full of sand)
ok, please maika'ii
``````note: we have on property a huge open pavilion for family cultural gatherings
now, this house= on coral, non-arable, impossible for growing yearly crops So...we have found ways to help pay the cost of residential water, and other cost. We do not get farmers price for water.This property= “AGRICULTURE ZONE 2.”
in historical times-current= this property is a historical gathering place & still exists for locals historical cultural events Our culture is to Gather together, ku ka ku ka ku ka( talk story), eat, Aloha Aina, malama Aina, malama kupuna, keiki, Ohana, everything, everyone.
just so you know, we are local people & are as laid back but hardworking, especially mom(vee), very giving, but can be stearn Mom may be a little woman but I’ve seen big samoans give her huge respect.
ekalamai, we are local as local can be in hawaii nei Example, I may text you ill be by to water plants at 4pm, it can also mean i'll be there at 5pm or so. Not drastic at all, does it matter what time ill be there to water plants, unless you want complete privacy, ( just let me know)just only know that i will be there to water plants. time will still tick.world will not shatter.
this also means if i forget something, example: if i for got to leave rubbish bags for the kitchen, please no get mad(broken english=pidgeon to da max), just let me know, i bring um as fast as i can I live a football field away, jus' yell, "Josephina, wow sistah, you fo' got da rubbish bags," or call, bettah yet just come by, no be shy. Come sing karaoke up on stage in the pavilion.
we are new to vrbo Please let us know if there is anything we can do to improve your stay to be relaxing, a place to re charge for the next day adnentures.
now & for future reference, we are always learning and looking forward to your feedback
now, across the street is preserved land ( preserve one)
it’s almost a private hiking spot Very beginner to advanced hiking.
``````````````history: a high ranking navy officer was first to buy this land across from the house and all the way down towards the main highway He raised cattle and used the natural resources of rocks on the mountains for the construction of several corrals, keeping the cattle from straying. If you hike up the mountain in front of the house just 10-15 feet up, you will be able to see the corrals made of stacked rocks if you look towards the left side of the street, close to the beginning of Lualualei Naval Road. you can also see stacked rocks going up the mountain and joining to naturally formed sides of the mountain used as fences,
`````````important: we will try our best to keep trails we personally made and groomed for our personal use and now your personal use too There is only One thing to watch for on this mountain and any other hiking places on the island, The Kiawe Tree has powerful thorns that if you should get one punctured through your skin even the slightest, could slowly infect the area having you to seek medical attention. The male kiawe trees have the thorns, Goddess Pele’s warriors, you notice the thorns instantly, be aware. The females have no thorns & usually surround the male.
history: foreigners came to this property for the purpose of trading goods, livestock, plants, and all sorts of things
foreigners would then spend the night to rest for the next days journey going through the pass of the kolekole’s sheer cliffs, leading onto the north side of the island without having to go all the way around the island to do more trading, and telling stories of their journey
then making their way back the next day and eventually back onto their ships
when king kalakaua reigned the kingdom of hawaii in 1874, i was told from a prominent source, that king kalakaua acquired huge amounts of coal from different countries The huge bins that stored all this coal is still in the very same spot and you can see all the scorch marks of coal located on the docks in Pearl Harbor. Unseen by citizens. The King knew someone will be coming for the collection of $$ for the large quantities of coal. He had no real money, only his kingdom and lands was what was of interest. the king wanted to know who will be first to arrive?
the king had young boys ages 12-16, if i remember correctly, settle on this very place for the purpose of sending these young scouts up to the top of several mountains surrounding this place and along the kolekole mountains to be a lookout for ships coming to oahu The Kolekoke is a huge advantage because You can see as far as you can see across the ocean. From the kolekole point, you can see both the north and the south.
these young boys were allowed to be married at a young age and have keikis (children)
lualualei naval base station, (our neighbor, about another 3 miles farther down the road) leads to the the kolekole passage from the south and north side Kolekole is still being used by the United States military. Huge military vehicles drive up and down the lualualei naval road almost every week.
there is tall posts with red lights always flashing These are low sonar detectors for detecting deep underwater. submarines??
a retired official who knew my grandfather, tells me one day i should know the history of where i live I am given the history and shown government records of what I share with you here.
i have seen things not too many people from hawaii know of
maika’i, very thankful to know history of where i live.
family, cultural, gatherings are celebrated here on this property
cultural events like, “1st birthdays,”is a historical cultural event due to the fact , hawaii not having modern medicine to treat serious illnesses, if baby lived to be one years old, it was something big and worth celebrating This was the biggest celebration than any other. This historical celebration is still going on big today. All cultural events here from different people always have over 150 to over 300 people that are just family and friends. Yes, big family events is also a long time culture in Hawaii. So if you wish, come stay, Be Ohana, Our hanai(adopted) family.
you’re privacy and time spent here is important to us We welcome you to communicate anything you’re interested in on these islands and what we offer. We will provide you with information as best we can.
the kolea, alaskan migrating birds, also known as the pacific golden plovers also come and stay on our property
the kolea needs every ounce of support to keep their second home “as is,” with only small changes These little birds are not swimmers, they will drown. How they fly 3 days straight without stops to Alaska is incredibly unique.
we are just placing up a hall of hiking fame, you can place your pic 3x3 and pin your pic on the mountain's( mountain across the street from the house) highest hike point that you've succeeded
we will now have a vrbo ohana wall for guests to place their photo as your mark that you were here on lualualei naval magazine road, westside mauka vrbo ohana hale
