we are centrally located within the heart of newcastle, having the vibrant shops and cafés of darby st, beautiful parks and playgrounds, and several of newcastle’s golden beaches within a short walking distance
cooks hill chalets is a french-provincial style house combining modern and classic style furniture and artwork from all around the world
there is plenty of space to relax with a king timber sleigh bed in the spacious master bedroom, 2 single beds in the second, and a single in the third bedroom The fourth bedroom offers a luxurious queen bed for a second couple, with all beds furnished with 1200 thread count linen. We can offer a double Aerobed which is set up in the master bedroom for an 8th guests.

living around the corner from the property, i am fully available 24 hours a day for any issues that may arise We are happy to offer early check-in and late check-out if there are no other guests leaving or arriving on the same day. We provide keys via a lock-box on the property itself, so there is no waiting around for someone to arrive to let you in, or having to go to an office to collect keys.

for those lazy rainy or cold days spent inside, we have put aside a selection of dvds, board games, cards and books to keep everyone in the family well entertained

walk on flat ground to the beach or the harbour foreshore, shop at world class boutiques, then enjoy dinner and hunter valley wines or beers at a local restaurant life doesn't get much better than that!
great coffee
little place on the corner of corlette and bull st called "welsh blacks", literally two block from the chalet (I leave several maps at the property and would be happy to give you some guidance after you arrive). Otherwise, anywhere on Darby St sells good coffee, including "Glee Coffee Roasters" or Goldbergs.

"goldbergs" hands down Like a European cafe, great atmosphere and food.
also, there is a great chocolate restaurant called coco monde on darby st
for smoothies to die for (including mars bar, cookies and cream and other weird flavours), try "the three monkeys" on darby st

marketown shopping centre is only 900m away, containing coles, woolworths, big w, dick smith, officeworks and lots of little shops as well

there are many small boutique and designer shops along darby st, with jean bas, honeybee goods and carla swimwear to name a few

westfield kotara (david jones and a huge number of other stores) and also charlestown square (main store is myer also has the reading cinemas)
cinemas
rather than drive to charlestown square, you can walk to the greater union cinemas in king st, about a 10 minute walk away

check out the new "anzac walk" which runs up the cliff from bar beach to a lookout, beside memorial drive For the more adventurous, the Glenrock Reserve, only 5km away, offers long walking tracks with beautiful scenery and animals.

by rail, the chalet is best accessed from hamilton railway station, with buses connecting with each train directly to the civic station area The home is then a short 3 block walk from the bus stop. It is also one block back from Darby St, where numerous the buses travel to surrounding suburbs, John Hunter Hospital, the CBD and the world-class beaches.
