Summary: While the hotel receptionists were extremely kind both at check in and check out, my stay was not a positive experience. First, I got stuck in the elevator. It randomly stopped between floors. Luckily, it was a short time, about 5 minutes, but still a panic inducing experience. It was nerve wracking using that elevator again, but it seemed to be the only elevator available. There was another elevator, but it appeared not to not be working. Then the whole 4th floor and especially my room had an odd, unpleasant smell. I should have requested a room change, as the smell definitely gave me a headache by morning. The room was generally pretty clean, except for a few random hairs in the bathtub. In the morning, I discovered a spot of bright red blood on the comforter, that I only noticed because I had a defective coffee lid that caused me to dribble coffee on the sheets. The comforter had a flat sheet underneath and on top of it, which is odd. The comforter clearly hadn’t been washed. If it hadn’t been only a one night stay, I wouldn’t have stayed. The gentleman in the morning at checkout said he would have offered a partial refund, but couldn’t since I booked through hotels.com. It’s unfortunate, because this hotel is conveniently located to the events I attend.
