The local village is Puymaurin which has a small library but no shops! But the local town, L'isle en Dodon is a thriving town. It has a small supermarket and a few good restaurants. On Saturdays there is a market offering local produce. The whole area is quiet, rural and boasts an interesting history - from d'Artagnan who was from nearby Auche to the kings of Aquitaine to the West. The Gite is also close to the ski areas of the Pyrenees and only 2 hours from the Spanish border to the south or Carcasonne to the South-east. Only bookings of a month or more are accepted.
