Summary: The Casita was everything we could have hoped for. Beautiful property, a few minutes out of the city but close enough to hop around to beaches hiking and activities. The place was very spacious, much bigger than it looks in pictures. The bedrooms were huge, 2 full baths, and a large great room with kitchen. The kitchen was modern and well stocked for cooking. Furniture was really comfortable. There's a laundry machine in the garage. The courtyard is private with furniture, a grill, a land plenty of shade thanks to the enormous tree out front. One thing to note: there was no TV. We actually enjoyed this as we sat outside most of the time and played games and puzzles that were in the Casita. The host made this place special. She sat with us and we shared stories of travel and hobbies. Very friendly and accommodating. Our family with kids (1yr and 5yr) had no issues at all with sleeping or entertainment for our 3-night stay. Sometimes in the city the trains, light or outside noises keep them up, but everyone had such a good time here. Access to the property is a little confusing, but the host has directions on the listing. The roads in the area feel like long private driveways. After only one wrong turn we found it pretty easily, and the area is super safe so we weren't worried. Next time we're in the Carlsbad / San Diego area again, this is the first place I'll look to book my stay! Absolutely phenomenal all around.
