morningside is the nearest local “village in the city”, it is a 10-15 minutes’ walk away There you will find pubs, (including the Canny Mans, one of Edinburgh’s oldest), good restaurants, a variety of individual shops for mooching, and M&S Food and Waitrose supermarkets.

At the bottom of the steps, if you cross the road, you will find the bus stop to go into town. The stop is called “Braid Hills Hotel”. The number 11 bus runs every 10 minutes during peak times. The number 15 also goes into the city – both stop at Princes Street.
