Summary: We recently stayed at Billabong Retreat during the lead up to Christmas and the New Year period 2019. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Penny and Russ (the owners) who gave us a quick tour of the house before leaving us to our own devices. Penny and Russ have done an amazing job creating a great little tropical paradise. We were able to relax and put our feet up while the children (6 & 7) were either kept entertained by playing outside under the “Bali Style” Veranda or in the separate children’s lounge. The house is very comfortable, there are numerous places to escape and read a book or just relax on the veranda facing the Billabong (The pictures really don’t capture the space and light that this place has). The Bedrooms and beds are very comfortable and bathrooms are spacious great with the main bathroom having a large bath tub. Billabong house is located a few minutes out of Cooroy and we thoroughly enjoyed this cute little town. The Kids were able to attended an Art Class at the Butter Factory while we walked to a number of great coffee shops. We also had great meals at the Brewery and Cooroy Pub. Cooroy for us was pretty central, we were able to visit many of the attractions such as the Ginger Factory, Botanical Gardens an Noosa, Noosaville and Montville (Also a Cute little town). The local IGA and liquor store was also very handy only being 5 minutes down the road and stocking everything we needed to celebrate the new year with friends. Now that we have returned home we are certainly missing the little escape areas and the beautiful sounds of Nature that surround Billabong house. We would recommend this place for a great escape for anyone looking to relax, unwind and slow down a little.
